it does indeed ... what a beaut of a bird!!! i do hope he eats the spider who made that huge scary web in the other posting! i wouldn't want to meet up with him!
I don't know anything about those old 10 cent postcards but he's sure a handsome fellow out there on a limb on his lonesome; it won't be too long before a pretty lady bird comes along and claims him :)
I just had another look at him. He sure is pretty as a picture. Reminds me of a Hardy poem --- is it 'The Darkling Thrush' --- where this pretty bird sings its pretty song even though it's winter still all around
it was but the bird was 'an aged thrush, frail, gaunt and small' not like your bird at all but its song was :'a full-throated evensong of joy illimited'
mine's Hardy. ya got a favourite poet, Jel? did you study the English poets in Missouri?
