a shell of it's former self!
it served well, on cold and rainy days and nites,
back in the good old days! :)

I kidd you not, that looks exactly like my aunt and uncles outhouse! Yes, they still use an outhouse!! It is crazy. I remember visiting them ask a small kid and being freaked out by it. Nasty and sad. :-( Every Saturday night they boil their water for their weekly bath so they won't stink at church. I think everyone has those relatives. LOL

Hope you have a great day!

Morning preacherman!

this was my ganny's

when we had that ice storm in "07"
that outhouse would have been nice,
to have when that cold air was blowing up your backside! :)

Oh, Brrrrr. I'm so glad I don't have to use one of those in the snow and cold.
Great picture. it really shows the textures.

That was the one thing I did not like about going to my grandparents' house. I hated taking the walk down that path.

Having seen and used any number of those fancy little buildings, I am amazed at how they all look about the same!

I've been on a half dozen or more mission trips into central Mexico to build houses and it seemed my forte was the building of the family's new outhouse! Now I wonder if that was because I came from the deep south, or because I knew a thing or two about carpentry and the houses were build of concrete blocks?

My grandparent also had an outhouse; it was a two-holer. I can’t imagine the necessity of that, I like my privacy. The “flush” was ashes from the woodstove. For me as a kid, that was the fun part. Scooping up a can of ashes and pouring them down the hole.

Another great picture-worth a thousand words.
