In churches of Christ (of which I am a part, but not all of it!), it is rare that anyone even knows October is Pastor Appreciation Month. I think in the 30 years I preached, only once or twice did anyone make mention of that to me. Maybe it's because we don't call our preachers "pastor" ... but they do need to be shown appreciation.
Our pastors do need to know that we appreciate them. Thanks for the reminder.
